About us
Jood is a Saudi deep-tech startup building the world's first Smart Saudi Coffee Machine — a capsule-based appliance that cooks authentic Saudi Qahwa, using real ground coffee and spices, in under 16 minutes, paired with a mechanized Dallah-style serving ritual. We operate as a subscription platform, not a hardware company: machines are placed free with hotels and sold directly to households, while a patent-protected, closed 8-tier capsule system drives recurring, high-margin revenue. Founded by Meshal Saeed, who brings 15+ years of engineering and program management experience including Apple in Silicon Valley, the company has completed multiple generations of validated prototypes and is in active discussions for its first hotel pilot placement.
Market Size
Saudi coffee imports reached SAR 2.96 billion in 2025, growing at a 22.4% annual CAGR. Our addressable market spans roughly 1,190 to 2,400 hotels mandated by the Ministry of Tourism to serve Saudi coffee (growing toward ~17,000 total B2B venues including government and corporate facilities), plus approximately 1.35 million culturally strong-fit Saudi households — of which only 3.5% currently own a premium coffee machine, leaving the category still largely unserved.
Traction to date
Jood conducted a live product demonstration at Atheel Hotel (KAFD, Riyadh, an Adeera property) in July 2026, where the Executive Chef present rated the coffee 9/10 and confirmed Jood solves the shift-to-shift consistency problem hotels face. Atheel has since moved toward a signed Letter of Intent for a pilot placement of Jood machines, with parallel discussions underway at the Adeera corporate level for a broader rollout. Jood has also received an $80,000 USD grant from the Saudi Ministry of Culture, has a SAR 2,000,000 Ministry of Industry grant application pending, and is currently progressing its KSA patent filing and a brand identity refresh ahead of scaled production.
